The Magic Telescope was an astronomy play to be distributed on DVD, as a youth astronomy outreach offering. This pilot episode was intended to be the blueprint for a series of videos. Although the DVD never made it to market due to legal issues, the music from the play is available here.
In the Magic Telescope story, three girls use an enchanted telescope, that teleports them to whatever they are looking at in the telescope; in this case, the Moon. After an exciting transport to the lunar surface, the three friends climb and dance on the hills of the Moon, overcome some challenges, and return safely home.
The marketing hook line was:
Join us on a rollicking adventure to the mountains of the moon, and come along with Sara, Molly, and Brooke, the Magic Telescope girls. Molly has just received a new telescope for her birthday. But what she doesn’t realize is that it has magical powers, even beyond her wildest dreams…
